The show

TREES! 30 fragments of Italian history is staged at M9 - Museo del '900 in Mestre until 10 August 2022 .

This exhibition, and the book that accompanies it, entrust trees with the power to tell the multifaceted mosaic of the history of Italy. Along the 30 stages of the exhibition, visitors will find shelter in the shade of monumental trees and great patriarchs that have populated our hills and mountains for centuries and sometimes even for millennia. But not only. Surprisingly, they will come across imaginative creations of human ingenuity.

A walk among surviving and surviving trees, among trees that do not want to know about dying and others that will never sprout, remaining forever the same when they came out not from the earth but from an assembly line. Trees have always been on our peninsula and intruders of our landscape, coming from afar, recently or in ancient times.

The poetic journey will open on 11 March with a conversation between the curators of the exhibition: the landscape architect Annalisa Metta, the popularizer Daniele Zovi, the arborist Giovanni Morelli and the illustrator Guido Scarabottolo, author of the 30 drawings on display.
