The Agnelli Art Gallery is located in a structure suspended on the roof of the Lingotto in Turin, where the first large factory of Fiat; They are exhibited in the permanent collection of works of art belonging to Giovanni Agnelli and his wife Marella. The "treasure chest" - as he calls Renzo Piano, who designed it - welcomes 25 extraordinary masterpieces (twenty-three paintings and two sculptures), ranging from the eighteenth century to the mid-twentieth century. Among the works on display you can see a unique collection in Italy of seven paintings by Matisse, a 1913 painting by Balla on the vehicle speed, and masterpieces by Severini, Modigliani and Tiepolo. The collection also includes valuable evidence Venetian art: six extraordinary views of Venice by Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, and two views of Dresden by Bernardo Bellotto, of such precision that served as models for the city's reconstruction after World War world. There are also works by Picasso, the other a blue period of the Cubist period, and testimonies impressionist Renoir and Manet. Finally, two plaster statues by Antonio Canova, Dancer with the finger to the chin and the Dancer with hands on hips. Below the chest, the Art Gallery is spread over five floors, where temporary exhibitions and a consultation room devoted to the theme of collecting, an educational center for art, offices and a bookshop are hosted. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with leading Italian and foreign museums and private collections, meant to discuss the phenomenon of collecting in all its aspects, both from a chronologically and thematically.
