The show

The Merz Foundation reschedules activities after the lockdown and presents, from Monday 7 September to Sunday 31 January 2021, the new exhibition and cultural project: PUSH THE LIMITS, curated by Claudia Gioia and Beatrice Merz. The exhibition brings together the voices of 17 female artists: a polyphony of signs and experiences whose imagination speaks to us of the ability to make all those realities that are 'beyond' pass through the threshold of thought.

The constitutive principle of art is PUSH THE LIMITS and this is also the best wish that the Merz Foundation can make to celebrate the first 15 years of activity and to start with those that will still come. The title PUSH THE LIMITS immediately declares the will to investigate the ability of art to constantly put itself on the limit to move the axis of thought, perception and speech, introducing new elements into the system.

PUSH THE LIMITS tells effortlessly, finalisms and superstructures that are not those of contemporary art's thought and creativity, a path of research to find a language that is aware and capable of telling the present.
