closed THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HISTORY IN THE WORLD

The show

The exhibition is intended as a tribute to the figure of Paola Lombroso Carrara and to the rural school Bibliotechine project.

For the first time, evidence of the experience of that long experience of social life that involved thousands of Italian schools for almost fifty years, from 1909 to 1954, is presented in an organic way.

The aim of the Bibliotechine was to provide the most disadvantaged schools with pleasant reading books through a dense network of collaborations, but above all thanks to the commitment of teachers and young women and the direct involvement of children through the coloring and sale of propaganda postcards, with the proceeds of which books were purchased and sent to schools throughout Italy.

In a large biographical and documentary section there are photo albums, a historical review of the "Bulletin of rural libraries", registers, cards and lists of the books sent as well as an exhibition of the original drawings of some of the main artists who collaborated with Paola , and some printing clichés, which allow to reconstruct the work process for the creation of the postcards themselves. Finally, a rich review presents the various types of propaganda postcards created by various artists between 1910 and 1915 in support of the initiatives of Zia Mariù. The history of the Bibliotechine is also told through specially created multimedia that can be used in the exhibition.

The exhibition can be visited during the opening hours of the museum.
