The Museum of Country Life "Diogene Penzi" San Vito al Tagliamento is located in the center of the small town in the province of Pordenone. The headquarters of the Museum is the Altan Palace and is named Diogenes Penzi, ethnographer and local historian who founded the museum in 1997. The collection includes objects from the plains and the mountains of West Friuli, dating from between 1850 and 1950 approximately. The exhibition is divided over several floors and are based on the theme of rural life related to daily life: home decor, food, clothing, family and livelihood and income production. Of great interest are the reconstructions of the environments of the kitchen with Cjavedal, the Bridal Chamber and work environments dedicated to the various activities related to the fields of the world. Countless tools on display are related to the cultivation of the land, because farming was, as part of the production activities, the main occupation and source of income for farming families. To manual tools such as hoe, spade and pickaxe, they are flanked those pulled by oxen, such as the plow, of different types depending on the use, and the harrow. Specific sections are devoted to maiscoltura and winegrowing.
