The MURATS_Museo Unique Regional Art Textiles Sarda is located in Samugheo in the periphery of the country and was born from the desire to recover and preserve the historical memory of the textile Sardinia. Its activity is divided between the realization of temporary exhibitions, with projects dedicated to Sardinian craft sector, and the permanent exhibition of its Collection which is composed of a substantial corpus of artefacts from various parts of the island. It is, blankets, sheets, bedding for children, underwear for daily use, saddlebags and towels for the campaign, clothing for the pastor, traditional costumes for parties and instruments including traditional wooden looms, equipment and various tools for weaving, samughesi heads of daily and festive attire, precious textile articles of the eighteenth century, handcrafted in wool, cotton and flax. Among the artifacts from the Museum's collection are also those of the Coconut collection. The Museum also offers comprehensive amenities which include a series of thematic workshops for the different grade schools.
