The show

Hostia. Pier Paolo Pasolini is the exhibition project conceived by the artist Nicola Verlato and curated by Lorenzo Canova , with the participation, among others, of Vittorio Sgarbi, Umberto Croppi and Miguel Gotor , produced and organized by the MetaMorfosi Association and the National Roman Museum - Terme di Diocletian with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, on the occasion of the centenary of the artist's birth, born in Bologna on March 5, 1922 and died in Rome in 1975.

Inspired by the tragic death of Pier Paolo Pasolini , the exhibition, which is part of PPP100 Roma tells the Pasolini program of cultural initiatives promoted by Roma Capitale on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the Italian artist and intellectual, is conceived as a tribute that is divided into a series of artistic variations, paintings, sculptures, drawings, architectural projects, music and videos made by Nicola Verlato in dialogue with the great halls of the Baths of Diocletian in Rome .

The exhibition Hostia. Pier Paolo Pasolini originates from a large painting which, like an ancient altarpiece, represents the body of Pasolini as he goes back through his life. Other large pictorial works deepen further aspects connected to the representation of the main painting. A frieze over eleven meters long, a life-size sculpture that portrays Pasolini in an extremely realistic way and some sculpted heads complete the exhibition which also makes use of video projections and which is accompanied, along the entire route, by symphonic music. The exhibition is enriched by a selection of photographs taken from the Intesa Sanpaolo Publifoto Archive which portray Pasolini on the occasion of public events (conferences, presentations, participation in festivals) documented by the photographic agency between 1959 and 1968.
