The show

The Istituto Svizzero presents "Allora", the first solo exhibition in Milan by the artist Renée Levi.
Originally from Basel, she is an internationally renowned artist who uses abstract painting, drawing and installation. Trained architect since the 1980s and lecturer at the Basel School of Fine Arts since 2001, he creates works focused on the perception of space, using often very bright and sometimes fluorescent colors. In The Sext Life of Painting (2015), John Kelsey contextualizes painting as a form of "revitalization". Kelsey describes the visual experience of painting in the information age and image saturation, comparing it with the constant supply of information that is experienced through platforms such as social media. Levi's works affirm the constant vitality of the pictorial medium in a digital world, revitalize space in an iterative way and remind us that painting is pleasant and is present.
