Curated by: Roberto Borghi, Livio Moiana

The show

From 18 to 28 September the spaces of the Luciana Matalon Foundation will host Nello Taietti's solo exhibition, "Onironautica".
"Onironautica" is divided into a photographic exhibition and a theatrical performance, whose fil rouge is the lucid dream, that is the state in which the subject realizes he is dreaming and acts consciously within it. The exhibition is divided into forty-eight shots of flowers, natural landscapes and female figures. The soft images, overexposed to light and pastel tones underline their origin from dreamlike places. As Roberto Borghi underlines: "they are images that originate from a lucid intent, that is, selected and proposed according to a clearly traceable criterion, the ones that we see flowing in the exhibition: shots taken according to a dual logic, which sees alternation between nature and the human figure, in a rotation that tends to maximum fluidity. " Livio Moiana adds: “My advice to those who look at his works is to immediately go beyond the subject that catches our attention at the first impact. In the background, sometimes hidden and discreetly, there is the essence of his photo. It will never be in front of us like a sign. His photos require our participation with the senses. " The last images of the exhibition path introduce the viewer to the theatrical representation, conceived by Nello Taietti, interpreted by the actor Daniele Crasti and accompanied by the piano notes of Luca Arnaldo Maria Colombo. The famous opera Madama Butterfly is freely reinterpreted in the show; this representation stems from a dream of the author and is transformed into a poetic narration through images, which recounts Puccini's drama in a modern key. In his dreamlike dimension, Nello Taietti feels an unrequited love for Cio-Cio-San, an icon of love and beauty and a character dear to the author since 2002, when he staged the Opera at the Teatro Piccolo in Milan.

Nello Taietti: Since the Eighties he has dedicated himself to analogue photography and printing, a passion that was transmitted to him by his father at an early age. He follows a course at the Milanese Philological Circle expertly guided by illustrious professors such as Virgilio Carnisio and Gianni Berengo Gardin. In those years he also participated in the SICOF (International Exhibition of Cine Optics Photography) presenting two photographs taken in the bustling streets of Milan. In 2000 he opened the MILARTE Contemporary Art Gallery, an international reality committed, in the artistic and cultural panorama, to guaranteeing fruitful exchanges between Italian, Japanese and Korean culture, as well as offering wide visibility both to established artists and to promising young people. On 7 March 2002 he staged Puccini 's Madama Butterfly at the Nuovo Piccolo Teatro Strehler in Milan thanks to the skill and interpretation of Korean, Italian and Japanese artists, united by the love for opera and the desire to celebrate the union between two cultures still so distant, eastern and western. From 2002 to 2004 he taught 'Marketing of the art market' at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. At the same time he designed and carried out training courses in the artistic field financed by the Lombardy Region and aimed at unemployed young people. In 2007 he became first director and then president of the Luciana Matalon Foundation. In May 2014 he curates the photographic exhibition of Yoshie Nishikawa entitled "Purification". In April 2019 he takes a photographic trip to Hokkaido (Japan) with Amanda Ronzoni, photojournalist of National Geographic.
