The show

Colors, Places, Faces is a composite and multiform story that reflects, through a kaleidoscope of visions, a unique combination of art, journalism and storytelling. Curated by Giorgio Armani in collaboration with Magnum Photos, the exhibition returns an eclectic perspective through the gaze of ten international photographers and their respective ways of understanding photography.

Artists who are still active or have disappeared, united by the desire to explore reality and to render, in the form of an image, suggestions and emotions. The spectrum is broad: from Christopher Anderson 's China, investigated in the faces instead of in the architecture, to Olivia Arthur 's Dubai, seen in the gaze of a castaway who returned after fifty years to a city that from a village has become a megalopolis; from Morocco by Bruno Barbey , a long story of a country that has escaped modernity, to Werner Bischof 's New York, portrayed in color through shots that immortalize its dynamism; from the architectures intended as sociopolitical spaces by René Burri , to the coasts seen as border places between land and water by Harry Gruyaert ; from Martin Parr 's pungent dissection of English living, in Tokyo and Venice portrayed by Gueorgui Pinkhassov through stolen shots and unexpected angles; from Iran painted in his daily life by Newsha Tavakolian , to Latin America and the Caribbean in saturated colors by Alex Webb .

'Photography has always fascinated me because the emotion it arouses is closely linked to the surprise in observing reality from an unexpected point of view. In particular, I admire the work of the Magnum photographers, which I began to know when I myself began to see the world with new eyes. Colors, Places, Faces takes us on a colorful journey through worlds and cultures near and far, transfigured by each of the artists, through a personal vision. It is the attention to reality that fascinates me about their photographs, never simple reportages and all so different from each other ', said Giorgio Armani.

Founded seventy-five years ago by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, “Chim” Seymour and George Rodger, Magnum Photos is one of the most famous photo agencies in the world. The name pays homage to the great dreams that Capa cherished for the future of this project.
