BUILDING and MA*GA present "Giovanni Campus. Time in process. Reports, measurements, connections", an exhibition project in two chapters dedicated to the experimentation of Giovanni Campus, curated by Francesco Tedeschi: two complementary exhibitions that inaugurate, respectively, September 12 from BUILDING in Milan and September 21 at MA*GA in Gallarate.
"Giovanni Campus. Time in process. Relationships, measures, connections" are composed of different moments, punctuated by the four floors of the Milanese gallery and in the "open space" environment of the Gallarate museum. At the center of each of them is the principle that has guided the artist's work for a long time and is defined by the qualification of "Time in process". Since the seventies, in fact, Campus works on the unity of installations in which the individual elements are connected to each other, in a continuity to be understood in a temporal sense, before being spatial. "Time" is at the center of his attention, as part of a dialectical process in which forms, geometries, the relationships between matter and color respond to a logic based on the value of the structural complex.
The figurative representation (the installation - the environment) at the operational level is carried out in reciprocal reference, in an aggregative dynamic of progressive fine-tuning, between instruments and categories, between expressive plastic signs and symbolic references (wooden boards, structures Euclidean, internal and external spaces, moments and temporal phases). This representation, in its reading, sensitive-intelligible, absorbs differences, does not occupy or intervene in space as an open place, but involves and incorporates it ”.
